Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical assembly and blueprint reading, with the ability to interpret schematics and use various hand and power tools. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex projects involving ductwork, structural components, and machinery assembly, contributing to high-quality manufacturing processes. The position requires a proactive approach, safety awareness, and proficiency with equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and press brake machines.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to assemble components accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and press brake machines to fabricate and assemble parts.
- Perform rigging and crane operations safely to position heavy components during assembly.
- Conduct machining tasks using calipers, hand tools, and other precision measurement devices to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely for material handling within the work area.
- Assist in the construction, installation, or repair of mechanical systems as required.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with welding equipment, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or construction environments as a fitter or similar role.
- Familiarity with rigging operations, crane operation, plasma cutting, press brake machines, and schematics interpretation.
- Experience working with structural steel is preferred/
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, schematics reading, and assembly processes is essential for success in this role.
Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
