Hiring a compounding line technician in Bolton
Full-time and permanent position
Shift: 2 pm - 10 pm (Mon-Fri)
afternoon line tech, we be training on the day shift until June 26th. The afternoon line tech will then move to the afternoon of July 6th at this point the operator will start to receive the one dollar shift premium.
Pay: $22/hour
The Compounding Line Technician is responsible for the efficient setup, operation, monitoring, and changeover of the K55, K35, and Davis Standard compounding lines. This role supports the production of high-quality compounded materials by ensuring equipment is operated safely, production schedules are met, and quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
The technician works with gravimetric feeders, pelletizing equipment, BBU systems, and downstream blending equipment while adhering to established SOPs, safety procedures, and LEAN manufacturing principles. This position also requires accurate documentation, collaboration with Quality and Operations teams, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment using 5S and LEAN manufacturing practices.
- Review and execute production schedules according to established sequencing requirements.
- Verify and stage raw materials prior to production runs.
- Set up, operate, and perform changeovers on compounding and pelletizing equipment in accordance with SOPs.
- Produce batches accurately while following process specifications, formulations, and work instructions.
- Monitor equipment performance and production conditions to ensure optimal operation.
- Identify and report any process deviations, equipment issues, or discrepancies from standard operating procedures.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and work closely with the Quality team to resolve concerns.
- Complete batch records, production reports, and operational documentation accurately and on time.
- Package, label, and prepare finished products according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Transfer completed products to designated shipping or storage locations.
- Perform thorough cleaning of compounding lines and supporting equipment between production runs.
- Weigh and prepare raw material ingredients offline when required.
- Communicate maintenance requirements and equipment concerns to the Operations Supervisor.
- Support fellow technicians and production staff to ensure departmental goals are achieved.
- Participate in continuous improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency enhancement initiatives.
- Work additional hours or overtime as required to meet production demands.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, compounding, extrusion, or production environment is considered an asset.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions, SOPs, and production specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and material handling as required.

- Safety performance, including TRIR and DART metrics.

- Reduction of equipment changeover downtime.
