Duties
- Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to established standards and customer preferences
- Ensure all meat products are handled safely and stored properly to maintain freshness and quality
- Package meat products efficiently while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about different cuts, and provide excellent service
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including equipment and tools used for butchery and food preparation
- Follow all food safety protocols and proper handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and ensure smooth operation of the meat department
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation, butchery, or kitchen environments
- Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and food handling safety standards
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and packaging practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic familiarity with kitchen equipment used in meat processing and packaging
- Certification or training in food safety is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
