Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalized care. Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized attention
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the classroom environment
- Collaborate with team members to develop curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Assist in preparing learning materials and classroom resources as needed
- Uphold all health and safety regulations, including COVID-19 protocols when applicable
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French or other languages are a plus
- Strong understanding of childcare principles and early childhood education practices
- Experience working with children, including those with special needs or disabilities
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills in a classroom setting
- Competence in computer operation for record keeping and educational software use
- Effective time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities throughout the day
- Writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- Classroom experience is preferred, along with familiarity with teaching strategies for diverse learners

Qualifications
- Registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators in Good Standing (must provide College of ECE Membership number when applying)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an Ontario childcare program
- Experience working with children in a group setting and/or experience caring for the individual needs of children up to 12 years of age
- Holder of a valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C Certificate (Infant/Child)
- Vulnerable Sector Check – within the last three months
- Ability to deliver high quality curriculum programming for children
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbally – grammar and punctuation
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and initiative
- General knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and How Does Learning Happen framework
- Ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with children, co-workers, and parents
- Ability to meet the physical demands of this position
Pay: $25.86 per hour
