Job description
PMAX SHIPPING LTD. is seeking reliable and hardworking Heavy Trucks/Automotive Dismantlers to join our team in Debert, Nova Scotia. The successful candidates will be responsible for dismantling heavy trucks and automotive vehicles, recovering reusable parts, and ensuring the safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
Main duties
- Dismantle heavy trucks and automotive vehicles using hand and power tools.
- Remove and sort reusable parts and components for export.
- Assist with loading the parts inside sea containers for export.
- Inspect recovered parts for damage and determine suitability for reuse.
- Drain fluids and handle hazardous materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Operate dismantling equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Assist with inventory control and proper storage of recovered parts.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and occupational health and safety standards.
Employment requirements
- Two years apprenticeship training or three years on the job training in automotive dismantling, heavy truck repair, or a related mechanical field is an asset.
- Knowledge of heavy truck and automotive components is preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and dismantling equipment.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy parts and performing repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset.
Work conditions
- Work is performed in a shop or yard environment.
- Exposure to weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy equipment may occur.
- Safety equipment and training will be provided as required.
