Logging Truck Driver Position – B.G. Selfloading Ltd.

We are currently seeking an experienced Logging Truck Driver to join our transportation team in the Vanderhoof / Nechako area. This is a critical role requiring proven skill and reliability in demanding on- and off-highway conditions.
Position Summary
- Location: Vanderhoof / Nechako, BC area (in-person)
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Compensation: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and proven performance; higher end for strong safety record and local knowledge)
- Schedule: Approximately 50–60+ hours per week depending on operations (special logging truck hours of service rules apply under BC regulations)

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate logging trucks to transport logs on on-highway and off-highway routes in all weather and terrain conditions.
- Perform thorough daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues promptly.
- Load and unload logs using appropriate equipment while maintaining load security and safety.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Hours of Service regulations, company safety policies, and WorkSafeBC standards.
- Maintain accurate records of hours of service, trip logs, safety documentation, and electronic logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, yard crews, loaders, and team members for efficient operations.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and support a strong safety culture.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience driving logging trucks, including extensive work in all weather and challenging on/off-highway terrain (required).
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract (required).
- Strong knowledge of log load securement, defensive driving, and safe practices in forestry environments.
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven commitment to safety and professionalism.

Additional Requirements
- Reliable ability to commute to or relocate to the Nechako / Vanderhoof, BC area (required).
- English language proficiency (required).
- Ability to work extended shifts and in remote conditions as needed.

- Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery environments.
- Physically demanding with potential for overtime during peak seasons.
- Personal protective equipment required at all times.
