Community Support Worker –
Northern Skies Supported Living Ltd. is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Community Support Worker to support an adult with complex medical and behavioural needs in her home.
This position is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, confident supporting complex needs, and committed to providing person-centred care while working alongside the client’s family.
Requirements
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
Comfortable driving in the community. A vehicle is provided for work-related transportation.
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Medication Administration training and experience.
Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
Experience with G-tube feeding and care.
Ability to safely support and manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies.
Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
Comfortable working in a family home where the client’s mother and sister also reside.
Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, overnights, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries, or complex medical needs.
Experience working in PDD, Supported Independent Living (SIL), or community living.
NVCI or equivalent behaviour intervention training is an asset.
