About Us
Sovereign New Edge Group Ltd. is a growing general contracting firm based in Richmond, BC. We specialize in a wide range of projects across the Lower Mainland — from commercial tenant improvements and ground-up construction to residential builds — and we’re looking for a talented Construction Project Coordinator to join our team and help us deliver every project on time and on budget.
About the Role
The Construction Project Coordinator will work closely with ownership, project management, and estimating teams to support day-to-day project administration, subcontractor coordination, documentation control, and scheduling. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is ready to take on greater responsibility — with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Estimators throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout
- Prepare, issue, and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation; maintain accurate logs throughout
- Coordinate and maintain project schedules alongside PMs and field supervisors; track key milestones
- Manage subcontractor and vendor communication, contracts, and compliance documentation (insurance, licenses, lien waivers)
- Create and manage purchase orders; ensure all incoming invoices are tied to an approved purchase order before processing
- Create change orders and maintain accurate change order logs
- Review and route purchase orders for approval in accordance with company workflow
- Track project budgets, invoicing, and pay applications alongside the PM and Estimator
- Assist with bid preparation, quantity takeoffs, and proposal packages as needed
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules; follow up with suppliers on timing
- Support shop drawing review and assist with submittal packages
- Coordinate with project managers, site staff, vendors, and consultants
- Attend and help lead project meetings; distribute meeting minutes and action items
- Assist with permit tracking, inspection scheduling, and closeout documentation (O&Ms, warranties, as-builts)
- Maintain accurate project files and records in project management software
- Mentor junior coordinators and administrative staff as needed
Required:
- 3–5+ years of experience in a project coordinator, project administrator, or similar role within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction documents, contracts, and project processes
- Hands-on experience with purchase orders, change orders, and invoice management (preferred experience with QuickBooks)
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanGrid, or similar) and Microsoft Office/Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as needed
Preferred:
- Experience with takeoffs, estimating, procurement, and change management
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools
- Knowledge of Canadian construction workflows and documentation standards
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
What We Offer
- $65,000 – $85,000/year based on experience
- Paid vacation (4%)
- Mileage reimbursement when site visits are required
- Genuine respect for work-life balance and the demands of life outside the job
- Dynamic, fun work environment with a great team of people
- Real opportunity for growth within a scaling company — including a potential path to Project Manager
