Position Overview
The Junior Production Technician is responsible for fabricating and finishing custom signage using the tools, equipment, and materials within our production department. This role involves material preparation, sign assembly, graphic application, finishing, packaging, and assisting with installations.
Working closely with experienced team members, the Junior Production Technician will help ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and to MMS's quality standards while developing valuable skills in sign manufacturing and production.

Job Functions
Production Duties
- Maintain an organized and efficient production workspace, including equipment, materials, work-in-progress, and work orders.
- Provide clear and accurate project updates to the Production Supervisor.
- Follow established production processes and procedures while contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
- Assist with inventory management and help keep production materials stocked and organized.
- Update production and purchasing records as required, including logs and tracking documents.
- Operate a variety of production equipment and tools, including laminators, Keencut cutters, vinyl application tools, drill presses, grommet machines, heat welders, routers, and table saws.
- Assist with sign installations, deliveries, and pickups as needed.
- Ensure materials are ordered from approved suppliers and handled according to company standards.
- Support the team in exploring new tools, technologies, and techniques to improve sign production and efficiency.

Location and Hours of Work
- This position is based out of our shop at 1624 Michael Street in Ottawa.
- Full-time positions are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start times between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m.
