Role:
Performs a variety of shipping and receiving tasks. Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to the associated departments or job locations. Prepares parts and materials for shipment ensuring cost effective courier/logistics services and secure packaging of the products. Performs various other tasks associated with warehouse/yard cleaning and organization.

· Knowledge of postal and/or commercial shipping methods and procedures
· Strong attention to detail
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
· Moderate physical activity. Requires handling average objects of 10-25lbs and standing/walking for more than 4 hours per day.
· The work environment involves minimal to a moderate level of physical risks such as operating forklifts. and being around heavy equipment. Safety measures are in place to protect all personnel.
· Work involves exposure to unusual elements such as fumes and/or loud noises.
Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping
- Ensuring that orders are shipped out in a prompt manner
- Prioritizing shipments based on order criteria
- Double checking all orders to ensure accurate shipment of goods
- Coordinate with freight carriers and schedule pickups based on priority and cut-off times
- Record outgoing packages into shipping book
- Record low stock levels as shipments go out
Receiving
- Receive packages and allocate them accordingly (Stock, MFG, Service, Sales order)
- Match packing list and/or invoice with PO
- Ensuring accurate quantities are received and noted on packing list
- No shipments are to be accepted without packing list with Traxxon purchase order
- Steel shipments will be recorded on paper as well as what is on Picking List to ensure accurate quantities are being inventoried
Inventory Control
- Ensuring all items are properly tagged or labelled before stock is put away or shipped out.
- Items for specific service/manufacturing jobs must be tagged with the associated job number
- Physical monitoring of stock levels when picking and putting away parts, recording anything out of the ordinary onto re-order board
- Record equipment coming in/out of the yard along with any materials associated with them
Organization and Maintenance
- Organizing steel in yard – Monitoring stock levels closely, recording anything out of the ordinary
- Organizing storage containers to ensure materials are stored in their appropriate places and protected from the elements
- Waste management – Dumping contents from shop and shipping bay waste bins into the on-site waste disposal bins, arranging them for pick up with waste disposal trucks
- Warehouse maintenance - general up-keep of shelving and racks, sweeping the parts room and shipping bay, cleaning up spills, etc.
