The Job
We provide corporate, commercial, real estate, development, and generational wealth-planning services.
We are looking for a deeply experienced legal assistant or paralegal.
Duties
- Build: this is a new firm with a big vision. Everything needs to be done, clients need to be acquired, and existing clients need to be supported.
- Legal work: draft, review, and proofread legal documents, contracts, and filings.
- Smarts: be smarter than the lawyers and deeply committed to client outcomes.
- Tech-adept: we will not use 30-year-old precedents saved on a file share; we will use tools and platforms to support our full practice.
- Outcome focussed. If you want a role that stays within its boundaries, this isn't it. If you want to do whatever it takes to serve our clients, you're the right fit.
- Drop the ego. If you'd ever dare to leave the printer paper unstocked, move on. Every task matters and we don't accept half-measures.
- Excellence. I want to end the day proud of the work we've done and I want you to feel the same way.
This is an intentionally brief and unusual posting. We are leaving space for you to tell us how you'd define yourself and build yourself, alongside the business.

The posted salary range is irrelevant. Great people produce results which are measureable and, therefore, compensable. We'll pay you more than anyone else in order to provide outcomes better than anyone else -- tell us what you're worth, and why, and we'll be eager to meet you there. Caution: that means accountability.
Location
Face-to-face still matters. We're flexible on hours and locations of work but we also believe our best work is done together.
We are incubating in Central Saanich (which isn't a great commute for most people). We are building office space in Saanich core (Uptown area). The goal is to move-in to the new office before 2027.
We will not accept or consider any person not already living on south Vancouver Island.

Qualifications
We are looking for a paralegal with legal experience. Applicants who do not have directly applicable experience will be insta-rejected. If you think there's a reason why you should be considered despite this boundary, please set it out in your application: if you don't, it'll be proof to us you didn't read the job ad and are doubly-disqualified.
Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
