As the Field Heavy Duty Mechanic/Electrician you will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment in the shop and field environments, with a focus on gas compression, heavy electrical and power generation equipment including gen-sets, electronic controls, PLCs, HMIs, switchgear as well as commissioning
- Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
- Service, trouble shooting gas compression equipment
- Assist in fulfilling our customer service commitment
- Trouble shooting Caterpillar equipment and perform equipment repairs
- Interface with customers, products and sales support
- Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
- Various related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
- Journeyperson Electrician certification
- Experience as an Electrical or HET Journeyman in the field
- Previous Power Systems and Commissioning experience is required
- Self-motivated
- Team player capable of working with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organization, and communication skills and a commitment to safety
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
Important Detail:
- This position will work a 7x7 or 14x14 continuous shift based at Fort McMurray Townshop
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
- You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
