This is a seasonal position with 40 hours per week (Spring-Fall).
Summary of Position: The Municipality of Red Lake is seeking a Ferry Operator to provide safe and reliable passenger ferry service between the Cochenour docks and McKenzie Island aboard Miss McKenzie II. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of the ferry, passenger safety, inspections, fare handling, and customer service, while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, municipal procedures, and safety standards.
The successful applicants will possess the following:
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Marine certifications or willingness to obtain them
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying conditions
- Availability for shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Wage is $29.22 per hour
