Summary
Your primary responsibility will be to fully support the Site Directors, Operational Managers, Regional Managers and District Managers in their role as it pertains to the quality of our operational services associated with your region. The focus of your function will be to ensure that our staff on site are well trained, well dressed, knowledgeable, have the right attitude towards their role, and fully comprehend what their role is meant to accomplish. This means that you will take direction from the DM team but at any point this causes confusion or conflict, you are to approach the Regional Manager (RM) to help you with clarity and a resolution. In terms of operational accountability, this means the following:
Client Relations & Site Management
- You are to schedule visits to sites during your work hours and know who you are going to visit. The DM responsible for the site you are visiting, must be aware of your planned visit and purpose.
- Delivery of resources to sites when required, and at the same time, check on the quality service levels being provided by our employee, ensuring that he/she is very aware of the job functions and performing them properly.
- You will have an intimate understanding of all site post orders in your designated area,suggest updates to the Site Director as needed and update them as directed by your assigned DM.
- Deal with onsite issues as requested by the DMs or Operations Manager, such as providing backup services.
- Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents.
- Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly.
- Defuse potentially volatile situations and intervene when necessary.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
- Visit assigned sites regularly and provide excellent client care.
- Assist the DMs to ensure that staff site reports are done accurately and professionally, helping site staff to develop this skill to an expected level.
- Handle all interruptions and complaints in the assigned district.
- Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to you from time to time consistent with your abilities and qualifications.
Scheduling
- From time to time, to avoid open shifts, you will be expected to physically fill shifts yourself until you can make alternative plans. This will mean that you are well versed with which employee is trained at what site, and what back up staff can you reach in an emergency, to avoid open shifts.
- Understand the workings and be able to fully utilize the scheduling system, providing you with the ability to see who is working at which location, at any time during your shift.
- Cover floor time if needed.
Staffing & Employee Management
- You must work all billable floor hours that are assigned to you by management.
- The DMs are to ensure that you are well versed at every site so that you can successfully fill open shifts, and train others to fill those same shifts.
- Provide key control measures when needed.
- Assisting the DM with startups of new accounts, with a focus on ensuring the new staff are comfortable with their roles. This is a training requirement, and the DM is fully entitled to use your services to help with onboarding and site orientation.
- Spot check guards to ensure Post Orders are being followed and they are adhering to company/client policies.
- If applicable, carry equipment in your car, such as flashlights, batteries, back up AP equipment, uniforms in each size, lock and key, bolt cutters, notebooks, pens, back up cell phone, admin documentation (copy of post orders, incident doc, shift report, sign in sheet), first aid kit (should have OFA 1 accreditation), fuel card.
- Defuse disturbances by company policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the site guards.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
Administration
- Assist the DMs, Site Directors and Operations Managers to ensure that staff site reports are done accurately and professionally, helping site staff to develop this skill to an expected level.
- Report findings daily to the appropriate DMs by submitting a daily shift report at the end of each of your shifts. Although facts are required, recommendations as to greater efficiency should be added to your reports.
- Understand and have knowledge of the company policies pertaining to the wellbeing of staff, and the provision of operational services.
- Ensure when receiving the vehicle that a pre-trip inspection form is completed and announce any irregularities to the next person on shift so that it can be mentioned in their pre shift report.
Other Job Duties (Uniform, Tactical, and Loss Prevention Guards):
- Support the development of new training plans for Uniform and Tactical Guards, including suggesting and developing innovative training resources.
- Supervise and train LPO’s.
- Ensure new staff members are properly trained for their positions and provide additional training where needed.
- Re-train staff members who need to refine their skills and to ensure they are knowledgeable and can perform any existing and new practices.
- Reporting to managers about the progress of trainees and producing supporting reports where needed.
- Focus on motivating and coaching employees where needed.
Requirements
- You shall abide by all national, provincial and local laws governing the provision of their services as a Field / Training Supervisor and maintain as current any and all licenses as required by said laws, including the Security Services Act and associated laws.
- You are required to hold a valid Security License.
- You are required to hold a valid Driver’s License.
- The Company prefers that you have access to a reliable vehicle.
