Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Curry Chef to join our vibrant restaurant team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Indian cuisine, particularly in preparing authentic curries, and possess strong leadership and team management skills. Candidates with a background in food safety, restaurant management, and hospitality are highly preferred.
Duties
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian curries and other traditional dishes with attention to flavor, presentation, and quality standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety regulations
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and service
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper handling of ingredients in compliance with food safety protocols
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with health regulations
- Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction
- Lead by example in fostering a positive team environment focused on hospitality excellence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Indian cuisine cooking, especially in preparing authentic curries
- Supervising experience within a restaurant or food service setting is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality industry preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable to commercial kitchens
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience within the food industry is essential
- Ability to serve customers professionally while maintaining high standards of hospitality and service excellence
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
