Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations across our growing network of businesses. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting, compliance, and planning activities across our network of businesses.
This is a hands-on role well suited for a CPA who is comfortable in a growing, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate approaches the complexity of a growing organization with curiosity and a genuine drive to build something better.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Oversee the full cycle of accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Manage and maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records across all entities.
- Leading month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information across multiple businesses.
- Maintain the integrity of all financial records and ensure proper documentation and audit trails.
Internal Controls and Audit
- Design, implement, and maintain a strong internal control framework to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Identify gaps in existing processes and implement improvements.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures across the organization.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial tax obligations.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and CRA on all tax-related matters.
- Stay current with changes to tax legislation and accounting standards and implement updates as required
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support LifeSmart Health’s growth objectives and long-term business goals.
- Support leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across all business units.

Work Schedule & Location
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Hours are flexible.
- Stat Days: Closed on all stat holidays.

Qualifications
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- CPA designation (required).
- 3 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including at least 1 year in a Controller or senior accounting role
- Experience with QuickBooks and CRM platforms
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, Canadian tax legislation, and CRA compliance requirements.
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end close
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders
- High degree of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
