Health Zone Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (HZNPLC) is a non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health. We are a primary care clinic led by Nurse Practitioners and supported by a full interdisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, pharmacist and administrative staff. We provide care to our community in a culturally safe, inclusive and trauma-informed way, supporting both patients and providers in having a positive experience rooted in excellence.
We are currently looking to fill a newly vacant 1.0 FTE Medical Office Assistant role, working in clinic Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, with some evening hours until 7pm (1-2 days per month).
In this role, you will:
· Greet and check patients in and out of the clinic
· Scheduling of appointments as required in consultation with the clients, nurse practitioner and interdisciplinary team members
· Promptly handle telephone calls, messages, faxes and email coming into the clinic
· Ensuring patient samples are received by lab daily
· Enter data for new and existing clients into EMR
· Faxing, scanning, filing, uploading to EMR and photocopying as required
· Complete workspace and reception IPAC procedures
· Send reminder emails and required forms for patient appointments
· Organize and distribute clinic mail
· Coverage for other admin staff as required
· Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- Completed Medical Office Assistant certificate or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting for 2 or more years (Primary care an asset)
- Customer service experience
- Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Suite, Clinical Connect and Electronic Medical Record (PS Suite an asset)
- Superior organization and multitasking skills
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Excellent attendance
- Self-motivated, flexible and creative approach to work and stimulated by taking on new challenges;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;

· Hourly rate of $21.80-26.65/hr (37.5 hrs per week)
