The Host plays a vital role in being the first point of contact for each guest. The Host ensures each interaction is positive, friendly, and upbeat, while leaving a memorable impression from the time they arrive to the time they depart.

Responsibilities for this role include:
- Creating a positive experience and memorable impressions
- Ensuring friendly and prompt greetings and seating of all guests
- Supporting the team by running food, clearing tables, assist with cleaning or taking payments
- Answering phone calls to take reservations or handle guest inquiries
- Managing the reservation system and floor plan to ensure proper flow and organization
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked host stand
- Assist with room service orders and deliver to guest rooms
- Following all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
- All other duties as required
The “must haves”:
- A passion for the tourism industry
- Positive and energetic personality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time
- Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Confident in striking up conversation and connecting with guests in a positive and upbeat manner
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Confident in answering the phone and answering guest questions
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
The “nice to haves”:
- Previous host and/or restaurant experience
- Basic food and beverage knowledge
