About the Role
The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for duct cleaning in commercial and residential job sites, as well as maintenance on residential furnaces, air conditioning, and water heating systems. This position involves routine inspections and troubleshooting to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of HVAC systems, playing a crucial role in maintaining optimal indoor air quality and extending the lifespan of equipment.
The role includes performing air duct cleaning in residential homes and commercial/industrial buildings using high powered vacuum and high pressured compressed air. Should any HVAC systems require repairs or replacements, you will pass that recommendation on to the customer and earn a commission on the sale.
Responsibilities
This position will include but is not limited to:
- Air Duct Cleaning – Complete air duct cleaning of residential homes and commercial/industrial facilities using our custom built truck mounted vacuum system and high pressure air compressors
- Complete service and inspections of residential gas furnaces to ensure they are operating properly and recommend repairs or upgrades as required
- Complete service and inspections of residential central air conditioners and recommend repairs or upgrades as required
- Complete inspections on residential hot water systems and recommend repairs or upgrades as required
Customer Solutions & Relationship Management
- Recommend and explain to home owners other services that can improve their home comfort and indoor air quality and extend their equipment’s lifespan
- Share results of inspections with home owners to make them aware of any hazards found relating to their home HVAC system or hot water systems
- Ensure that customers understand the services that are being completed and how they will benefit

- Start with fully paid, hands-on training — no experience required
- Become NADCA certified after gaining proficiency in ductwork cleaning
- Apprentice as a ticketed sheet metal worker
- Work towards your Red Seal Journeyman HVAC Technician certificate

Compensation & Benefits
- $22–$28 per hour to start, plus commission
- Earning potential of up to $95,000 per year once fully trained, with commissions contributing to your total compensation

Required Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (3+ years preferred)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong organizational skills
- Customer service oriented
- Some trades experience would be considered an asset
- A history in sales would be considered a major asset
- Must be able to work at heights of 6–8ft on ladders and lifts
- Must live in the Edmonton area and be able to reliably commute to work
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally
