Administrative Assistant Job Description
Wave Fibre Mill offers custom fibre milling and processing services for Canadian fibre farmers. Its vintage machinery is capable of fine fibre processing and high-volume capacity. We also produce fabric for our own line as well as for small designers.
Responsibilities - including, but not limited to:
- Duties of the front office: reception/telephone, emails, basic bookkeeping, filing, post, ordering, inventory…
- Respond to and manage social media accounts, web pages, e-commerce and newsletters
- Create forms, charts, flyers, labels, signs, posters (Canva or In Design)
- Organize and manage upcoming workshops and special events
- Occasional participation in, retail operation
- Research grants, help write proposals and maintain funding programs
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong aptitude/experience with computers
- Experience with Quickbooks, Microsoft, E-commerce, Square, Canva, InDesign, social media platforms an asset
- Comfortable dealing with the public
- Problem solving and multi-tasking ability
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to work and learn independently
- Strong time management, written and verbal communications skills
- Must have basic math skills
- Experience with fibre/textiles an asset
- Must be physically able to work around animal fibre and in a mill environment

This position is supported by NOHFC funding.
Must be a resident of Northern Ontario.
