Business Development Specialist – Septic & Wastewater Solutions
Location: Alberta / Eastern British Columbia (Some Travel Required)

As demand for innovative wastewater treatment solutions continues to grow, we are seeking an ambitious Business Development Specialist to help expand our market presence across Alberta and Eastern British Columbia.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact role with significant autonomy and earning potential. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships, supporting marketing initiatives, and expanding awareness of our industry-leading products and services.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Sales Manager and leadership team while developing new business opportunities throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Business Development (25%)
- Assist with website development, SEO, and social media initiatives.
- Generate technical and marketing content.
- Coordinate with external marketing partners to implement campaigns.
- Ensure trade show materials, presentations, and promotional content remain current and effective.
- Research and compile information on complementary products and resources that support our offerings, including System O Sand, tank backfill materials, and related products.
- Help strengthen the company's overall market presence and brand awareness.
FRP Tank and Advanced Treatment Sales (75%)
- Report directly to the Sales Manager.
- Develop a strong technical understanding through hands-on training.
- Attend technical training sessions and webinars, with the goal of independently delivering webinars within six months.
- Generate leads through installers, contractors, engineers, and industry partners.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities throughout Alberta and Eastern British Columbia.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
- Conduct Lunch & Learn presentations with engineering firms and industry stakeholders.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong relationship-building and business development skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical products and solutions.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to generate leads, close sales, and achieve revenue targets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel part-time in Alberta and Eastern British Columbia.
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in construction, wastewater, environmental, industrial, engineering, or technical sales.
- Experience with CRM systems and QuickBooks.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Compensation
- $5,000 per month base salary, paid bi-weekly.
- Three weeks paid vacation annually.
- Commission structure that rewards higher levels of sales performance
- Company-provided laptop and cell phone for business and personal use.
- Employee benefits program (company pays 50% of benefit costs).
- Vehicle allowance of $0.55 per kilometre for approved business travel.
