Full Time Maintenance Technician – Commercial Bakery Manufacturing
Location: Vaughan, Ontario
Compensation: $70,000 - $72,000 per annum hour to start and based on experience and qualifications, Group Medical & Dental Benefits
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our commercial bakery manufacturing team. This position requires a hands-on maintenance professional with experience in a commercial manufacturing environment, preferably a commercial bakery. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial bakery equipment and be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment while ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. This position may lead to a full-time employment opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on commercial bakery production equipment.
· Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
· Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
· Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, preventative maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
· Ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, HACCP, QA, health and safety, and food manufacturing requirements.
· Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Operations.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance area.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a commercial manufacturing environment; commercial bakery experience strongly preferred.
· Working knowledge of commercial bakery equipment.
· Strong troubleshooting skills involving hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
· Experience with preventative maintenance programs and documentation.
· Experience maintaining and repairing spiral mixers, tunnel or rack ovens, conveyors, packaging equipment, and other commercial bakery production equipment
· Knowledge of SQF, GMP, HACCP, QA, and food safety requirements.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and safely.
Pay: $70,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
