Transdev Western Canada is looking for an HR Business Partner in Kelowna!
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will be a key player in achieving Transdev’s business objectives, providing key operational support to Western Canada operations. We are looking for a Human Resources Business Partner located in Kelowna!
- Serving as a trusted advisor, partner and coach to business leaders and managers across the Western region, providing expert guidance on a wide range of employee and labour matters (e.g. performance management, progressive discipline, interpretation of collective agreement, duty to accommodate).
- Advising on risk and support operations leaders through the grievance management process, providing assessment and professional advice during each step.
- Supporting and mentoring leaders as required in situations requiring conflict resolution.
- Providing expertise to managers in scoping and conducting investigations of grievances/complaints for both union and non-union employee cases and leading investigations where required.
- Supporting employee policy management and compliance including the creation, development and implementation of policies required in compliance with collective agreements.
- Participating in collective bargaining negotiations including preparing required documentation, coordinating schedules with union representatives, providing strategic advice on bargaining position, drafting proposals, and attending bargaining sessions. Take second chair or spokesperson roles as assigned.
- Ensuring operational leaders are equipped with necessary tools and knowledge to effectively navigate and operate their collective agreement, including developing & delivering education programs.
- Preparing ad hoc and regular management reports that support the improvement of leaders, as well as monitor trends and identify key issues and opportunities for improvement regarding employee relations.
- Staying current on relevant employment laws and regulations in the Western region of Canada, ensure compliance with all legal requirements and diffusion of relevant information to front-line managers.
- Championing continuous improvement, consistently reviewing HR processes & systems for change.
- Leading and supporting HR projects & initiatives as assigned
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field;
- Minimum 5 years of progressive human resources experience supporting front-line management with a focus on employee & labour relations, or equivalent people leadership and consultative experience.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, displaying creativity and innovation.
- Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution and change management.
- Experience in a multi-union environment an asset. Collective bargaining experience an asset.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations in Western Canada.
- Strong record keeping skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong professional writing and presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently.
- Ability to be resourceful, proactive and anticipate needs.
- Ability to travel within the Western region of Canada as needed (up to 30%).
- CPHR designation or pursuing designation preferred

- This is an in-office position with the potential for hybrid working once probationary period is complete
