Job Summary
As our Lead Pizzaiolo / Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day kitchen operation while establishing the standards that define our pizza program.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in every pizza that leaves the oven and understands that consistency is achieved through preparation, organization, and discipline.
You will work directly with ownership to help shape the future of the food program as KAFE continues to grow.
Duties
- Prepare and manage daily dough production and fermentation schedules.
- Hand-stretch and prepare artisan pizzas with consistency and precision.
- Operate and maintain deck or stone ovens.
- Prepare ingredients and oversee daily kitchen mise en place.
- Maintain exceptional food quality and presentation standards.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen team members.
- Develop efficient systems and workflows for daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with ownership on seasonal features and menu development.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional pizza-making experience.
- Previous leadership or kitchen management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of dough fermentation and artisan pizza production.
- Experience operating commercial pizza ovens.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced environment.
- A calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- A genuine passion for hospitality and craftsmanship.
