About the Role
Come join Rockport Commercial as a Concrete Journeyman Carpenter! As a Concrete Journeyman Carpenter, you will help build and install concrete formwork for foundations, walls, slabs, columns, and other structural elements in our residential and commercial buildings. You’ll work from drawings and project specifications to measure, cut, assemble, and strip forms while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality work. This role is ideal for a certified journeyperson carpenter who is looking to specialize in concrete form work.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site specifications accurately to make sure projects are accurate.
- Accurately measure, cut, assemble, and strip concrete formwork for a variety of residential and commercial building projects.
- Build forms for footings, foundations, walls, slabs, columns, and other concrete structures.
- Ensure formwork is level, square, and built to specification.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Work closely with site supervisors, labourers, and other trades to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company and site safety requirements.
- Support concrete pours and assist with related carpentry and formwork tasks as required.
What You’ll Need
- Proof of completion of a Journeyperson Certificate in Carpentry (required).
- Flat work concrete finishing experience considered a strong asset.
- Experience with concrete formwork, layout, and general carpentry on construction sites.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements accurately.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation to get to sites.
