Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dealership team. The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact between customers and our service department, ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle check-in to vehicle pickup. This role involves assessing customer needs, communicating repair requirements, and coordinating with technicians to deliver quality service. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival at the service department
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Explain necessary repairs and maintenance services in clear, understandable terms
- Provide estimates for repairs and services, including upselling additional maintenance when appropriate
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize and schedule repairs
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
- Follow up with customers regarding vehicle status and ensure satisfaction upon completion of service
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and customer interactions
- Promote dealership services, warranties, and accessories to enhance customer experience and sales opportunities
Skills
- Proven experience in a dealership or automotive service environment preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles and automotive repair processes
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Sales aptitude with experience in upselling services or products
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Prior experience with dealership management systems is a plus
