What We’re Looking For
We’re on the hunt for a talented Senior Bookkeeper: Technical Lead to join our professional bookkeeping firm. You will bring accounting expertise, technological savvy, and a unique ability to catch-up, clean-up, and optimize challenging bookkeeping files. As the firm's technical lead, you will be our go-to technical expert for difficult bookkeeping engagements.
Responsibilities
As our Senior Bookkeeper: Technical Lead, you’ll wear many hats:
- System Architect: Design and set-up accounting systems that provide compliance, tax, and reporting while streamlining bookkeeping tasks.
- Clean-up Hero: Catch-up historical bookkeeping transactions and clean-up bookkeeping files in preparation for the ongoing bookkeeping maintenance team.
- Team Player: Collaborate with team members to organize work responsibilities for large catch-up projects.
- Tech Guru: Research, recommend and implement cutting-edge technology stacks for our customers.
- Bookkeeping Pro: Review work and recommend optimizations.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive Canadian experience, completing full cycle accounting for multiple clientele.
- Canadian Savvy: Familiarity with Canadian small business owners and entrepreneurs.
- Tech Wizardry: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, troubleshooting technical issues, and setting up cloud integrations.
- Toolbelt: Comfort with various tech tools (like Dext, Karbon, Plooto, Payworks, Google Workspace, Loom, Shopify, PayPal, etc.).
- Excel Mastery: Proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- CRA Know-How: Experience with CRA Represent a Client and resolving reviews and various requests.
- Analytical Ninja: Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Deadline Juggler: Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines.
- Education: A related post-secondary degree is preferred.
