Objectives:
The Mechanic is Responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance, repair of major equipment, including Services Rigs, Coiled Tubing Rigs, Cementing Truck. Collect pertinent data and complete analysis reports, among other duties. Responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of regular equipment, such as Light Tower, Boom Lift, Fuel Tank, Mobile Office Trailer, Water Truck, Vacuum Truck, Picker, Hot Oiler and Pressure Truck,400 BBL Tank, Spooler Skid, Portable Restroom, Flat Deck Trailer, Air Compressor and etc.
Responsibilities:
- Manage COSL equipment-related documents, certificates, and maintenance reports, ensuring timely updates and proper record keeping; establish and maintain equipment ledgers to track status
- Develop and update equipment preventive maintenance (PMS) strategies
- Develop and implement maintenance plans and programs for assigned equipment, including execution and acceptance of completed work
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures to ensure normal operations; escalate unresolved issues to management, coordinate repair resources, or initiate procurement and engage vendors for repair services
- Monitor equipment inspection certificates, develop inspection plans in advance, and coordinate their execution
- Conduct daily patrol inspections; address issues promptly and record unresolved items in the backlog tracking system for follow-up and rectification
- Oversee periodic testing, commissioning, and planned maintenance activities to ensure equipment remains in operable condition
- Identify and recommend improvements for outdated or inefficient equipment and facilities, including corrosion prevention and optimization of equipment usability, standardization, and maintainability
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors’ work, including technical briefings, process supervision, and post-repair commissioning, inspection, and acceptance
- Maintain accurate and complete maintenance and service records; ensure compliance with company procedures, safe operating practices, and proper upkeep including cleaning and corrosion prevention
- Deliver equipment-related training, including daily inspections, operating procedures, maintenance processes, and departmental policies
- Monitor spare parts inventory and develop ordering plans based on stock levels and procurement lead times
Relevant Requirements:
- Proficient in the use of tools relevant to mechanical repair.
- 3–5 years of experience as a mechanic (oilfield preferred).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1/3 is an asset).
- Red Seal (Heavy Duty Equipment Technician) preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.
- A commitment to safety practices within the workplace.
Licence/Certification:
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate (required)
- Standard First Aid Certificate (required)
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (required)
- Valid Class 1 or 3 Driver's License with clean abstract (required)
