Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Convenience Store Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage sales transactions efficiently, and maintain a clean and welcoming store environment. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and sales processing
- Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure proper product placement through effective merchandising
- Conduct product demos and upsell items to increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including aisles, counters, and checkout areas and bathrooms.
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professional phone etiquette
- Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment
- Process transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service
- Promote store promotions and new products through effective communication skills
- Assist in maintaining organized displays and ensure compliance with safety standards
Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities (English and additional language) are preferred to serve a diverse customer base
- Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Organizational skills to manage merchandising and inventory tasks effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively
- Knowledge of POS systems and retail technology is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or evenings if required
