We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Quality Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring our food products meet the highest quality and compliance standards. You will work closely with our QA and production team to monitor processes, implement quality control measures, and ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for document verification and record keeping.
- Continuously improve food safety and quality standards by implementing, enforcing food safety quality assurance programs and policies while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for inspecting items placed on HOLD, and Hold documentation.
- Responsible for HACCP team meeting minutes.
- Verifies calibration schedule and incoming material reports.
- Assists with plant inspections, oversee plant preparation for recertification of BRCGS and other audits to obtain the highest rating.
- Assist in internal audit program, participates in audits and ensures that audits are completed successfully on a timely basis.
- Verify shipping records and environmental monitoring schedules.
- Validates cleaning and sanitation, and Critical Control Points.
- Responsible for verifying quality assurance records.
- Create COA’s for finished products and files raw materials.
- Participates in product certifications including - Kosher/Organic/Non-GMO/Plant-Based/GF, etc
- Responsible for responding to customers, analyzing and actioning customer complaints and maintaining quality assurance inbox.
- Responsible for identifying and actioning production quality issues.
- Oversees chemical safety data sheets, and implement WHMIS training procedures.
- Responsible for preparing mock recalls.
- Responsible for HACCP Forms, 1,2,5-8 (ingredients) and IRCC.
- Implements and trains employees to comply with food quality and safety program.
- Designs, maintain and update all training modules, SOP’s, and training records.
- Conduct refresher training for employees supervisors and management.
- Responsible for quality verification schedule.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science or Technology preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality role, in the food industry.
- Outstanding knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and BRC standard
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional team members to successfully address complex issues
- Strong analytical, organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

The salary range listed in this posting represents the expected compensation for this position based on market conditions and internal considerations. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role requirements.
