We are currently seeking caring and dependable Personal Support Workers who are fluent in Spanish or Italian to support clients who prefer receiving care in their primary language.
Position Summary
The Personal Support Worker will provide respectful, client-centred care in the client’s home or community. The successful candidate will assist clients with personal care, daily living activities, mobility, meal preparation, companionship, and other support based on the client’s individual care plan.
The ability to communicate fluently in Spanish or Italian is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and fall prevention
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when required
- Provide medication reminders in accordance with the care plan
- Offer companionship, conversation, emotional support, and social engagement
- Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, shopping, or errands
- Support clients living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, physical disabilities, or chronic health conditions
- Observe and report changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or cognitive condition
- Complete daily care notes, progress reports, and required documentation accurately
- Follow infection prevention, health and safety, confidentiality, and company policies
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other members of the care team
- Respect the client’s culture, language, privacy, dignity, preferences, and independence
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized Ontario educational institution
- Fluent in Spanish or Italian
- Previous experience working in home care, long-term care, retirement homes, hospitals, or community care is preferred
- Experience supporting seniors or clients with dementia is considered an asset
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proof of required immunizations and health screening
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Compassionate, patient, reliable, respectful, and professional
- Ability to work independently and follow an individualized plan of care
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including assisting with mobility and transfers
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are considered assets
Availability Requirements
Candidates should be available for one or more of the following:
- Day shifts

- Live-in caregiver assignments

Pay: $17.20-$25.00 per hour
