Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty equipment and vehicles such as Skid steers, Excavators, Telehandlers, Loaders, Forklifts, and other machinery. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a solid work ethic, and is committed to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and troubleshoot Construction equipment to diagnose issues.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on diesel engines, LPG systems, hydraulics, and brake systems.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
- Maintain accurate service records and logs.
- Ensure all work meets company and safety standards.
- Respond to emergency service calls.
- Keep shop and tools clean and organized.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman certification or Red Seal.
- 3+ years of experience working with heavy-duty equipment.
- Clean valid driver’s license (Class 5).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair manuals.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and tools and work in physically demanding environments.
Preferred Skills (optional):
- JCB Experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of computerized diagnostic software (Service master, Jaltest).
