We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Toolmaker / Machinist to gain hands-on experience in precision machining, tooling fabrication, automation support, and equipment maintenance.
This position is ideal for a motivated individual who is currently registered in a Tool and Die Maker or Machinist apprenticeship and is eager to build a long-term career in the skilled trades.
Position Overview
As an Apprentice Toolmaker / Machinist, you will work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople to learn the skills required to manufacture, assemble, maintain, and repair tooling and production equipment. You will gain exposure to traditional machining, CNC equipment, automation systems, and manufacturing processes while developing your technical knowledge and trade competencies.
What You'll Do
- Assist with the manufacture, assembly, and fitting of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and production components.
- Operate mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment safely and effectively.
- Support tooling modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Assist with the setup and operation of manual and CNC machining equipment.
- Learn proper machining techniques, tooling selection, and material handling practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support preventative maintenance activities on tooling and production equipment.
- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Help maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components as required.
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow quality and manufacturing standards throughout production processes.
What We're Looking For
- Registered Apprentice Tool and Die Maker, General Machinist, or related trade preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, machining, mechanical, or technical experience is considered an asset.
- Co-op, vocational training, or trade school experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in manufacturing processes.
- Willingness to learn machining, tooling fabrication, and equipment maintenance.

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
