Photo Booth Attendant – Part-Time / Contract

Silly Booth is Calgary's go-to photo booth and event photography company. With close to 15 years in the Calgary events scene, we've built a long track record of showing up and making people smile — at wedding receptions, corporate galas, holiday portraits, branded activations, and everything in between. Our attendants are the reason that happens, and we're proud that so many of our team choose to stick around for the long haul.
We're looking for a warm, energetic people-person who loves being part of celebrations and takes pride in making every guest feel like a star. Whether you've worked in hospitality, events, retail, or simply have a natural gift for making people feel welcome — we want to hear from you.
You don't need to be a professional photographer — though any photography interest or experience is a bonus. What matters most is your attitude, your work ethic, and the genuine joy you bring to every event. We'll teach you everything else — full training is provided, and our team is always there to support you.
What You'll Do
Depending on the event, you will mostly work as a Photo Booth Attendant and sometimes as part of our Photo Studio crew.
Photo Booth Events (weddings, parties, corporate events):
- Drive from our Calgary office to event locations
- Set up and tear down the photo booth, props, backdrops, and equipment
- Assist guests of all ages — from excited kids to corporate guests — in having a great time at the booth
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with the booth's computer and camera setup
- Sometimes help guests create a photo scrapbook
- Represent Silly Booth with professionalism and a great smile
Photo Studio Events (holiday photos, corporate galas, special activations):
- Assist the lead photographer at studio-style setups at live events (think Santa photos, corporate portrait stations, and branded activations)
- Help pose guests and provide friendly direction to bring out their best
- Operate instant print stations and ensure guests receive their photos on the spot
- Help guests share photos digitally via email at the event
- Assist with setup and teardown of professional lighting, backdrops, and camera equipment
- Help manage the flow of guests through the photo experience so everyone has a great time
Shifts typically run 5-6 hours depending on location contract.

Practical requirements:
- Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's licence, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs for short distance and perform physical setup/teardown
- Basic computer literacy to troubleshoot booth equipment
- Consent to a criminal background check (we regularly work with children)
- Minimum age of 18 (required for events at licensed venues)
- English fluency required
Nice to have:
- Interest or experience in photography
- Experience working with children in an event, hospitality, or recreational setting
Schedule & Commitment
This is a part-time, contract role averaging 1–2 events per month, with the possibility of more during our busy season. Events are typically scheduled a month in advance. Availability on Fridays and Saturdays is required; candidates also available on weekdays will be given preference.
