We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Service Technician to join our team.
The technician performs all service and testing activities as assigned, and ensures that all Inspection and service calls are completed according to the prescribed guidelines and processes. The technician services fire equipment for all systems and equipment they are competent and certified on as well as assisting with installation.
Additionally, the technician is required to complete assigned reports and billing materials within the allocated time.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection activities on fire alarm systems, Kitchen Fire Suppression, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Backflow and Notifier Fire Alarm System Verification.
- Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, software/systems, schematics, and operational/product manuals.
- Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshoot problems.
- Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost-effective methods to return equipment to working order.
Qualifications
- Technicians shall have experience as a Service Technician within the Fire Protection industry.
- Technicians shall have ASTTBC Certification or comparable qualification (asset)
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50lbs and climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Possess a valid and clean motor vehicle license.

- Demonstrate a professional and pleasant attitude when faced with a frustrated customer.
- Basic computer skills are a requirement, as well as using our cloud-based service program.
- Knowledge of older fire alarm panels/special hazard/releasing panels and systems is an asset but not required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
