Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be integral to our fabrication team, responsible for interpreting blueprints and executing precise welding tasks. Your skills in MIG and aluminum welding, along with mechanical knowledge, will enhance your ability to work with various materials and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to design and fabricate jigs and fixtures.
- Complete assigned fitting projects efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform welding tasks as required for various projects.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to technical drawings.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workbench and surrounding area.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to operate grinders, drill presses, saws, and other hand tools.
- Follow written and oral instructions from the Production Manager, Production Supervisor, and the QC Team.
- Participate and follow all Health and Safety Policies of the Company.
- Be able to multitask and perform other duties outside of regular responsibilities when needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of welding/fitting experience preferred.
- Safely and efficiently complete assigned fitting projects in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Perform welding operations as required, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds.
- Inspect all work for quality, accuracy, and conformance to technical drawings and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workbench and surrounding area to support a safe working environment.
- Possess a valid CWB Certified GMAW ticket; additional welding certifications are considered an asset.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
- Must be able to fit/weld projects of varying complexities with minimal supervision.
- Must maintain a high standard of workmanship.
- Work independently and with the fabrication team.
- Past knowledge of crane use (certified) and safe work practices (asset).
