Bring your passion for early development to Ladysmith! BGC Central Vancouver Island is seeking a dedicated and skilled ECE-IT to join our integrated team. This is a Leave Coverage position expected to continue through to the end of August 2027, with the possibility of extension.
Wage: $29.00 per hour (including $6 BC ECE Wage Enhancement)
Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday (Shifts scheduled between 7:00 am – 5:30 pm).
Location: Ladysmith, BC.

As an ECE-IT, you are an expert in early milestones, routines, and secure attachments. You’ll work collaboratively to design enriching, age-appropriate spaces where infants and toddlers can safely explore their world. This role blends specialized clinical care with deep family connection, supported by an organization that puts people first.
Infant & Toddler Expertise: Provide specialized guidance around routine, nutrition, diapering, and sleep habits for children from birth to 3 years of age.
Curriculum Development: Plan, carry out, and evaluate developmentally appropriate indoor/outdoor activities using observation and modeling to support early growth.
Inclusive Practice: Work as a team to implement care plan goals for children with diverse needs, collaborating with speech or occupational therapists when required.
Family Partnership: Communicate closely with parents and caregivers about their child’s unique milestones, welcoming their input and participation.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain attentive supervision at all times and ensure all documentation (daily attendance, logbooks, and licensing requirements) is complete and accurate.
Certification: Approved ECE-IT Certification through the Early Childhood Registry of B.C.
Safety: Valid First Aid/CPR certificate approved by Community Care Facilities Licensing.
Experience: Proven experience working in a Community Care Licensed facility, with a strong background in assessing and implementing early years programming.
Team Mindset: Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills, with a passion for working in a collaborative, integrated staff team.
Eligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
