The Field Service Technician will provide installation, repairs & servicing of our products to our customers (Dealers) in the field and/or Dealer Shop. Traveling throughout Canada and USA will be a requirement of this role. The successful incumbent will have an exceptional customer-focused mentality, effective communication skills to successfully address the needs & concerns of our customers in a friendly & professional manner.
The successful candidate must have a valid Ontario drivers license & clean drivers abstract. There may be some travelling in this position. The candidate must have a valid Canadian passport.
Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Technical Certification or vocation training in relevant fields, such as electrical, hydraulic
- 2-3 years’ experience maintaining & repairing industrial / construction equipment.
- Strong mechanical & technical aptitude
- Ability to use a variety of hand & power tools.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to details and initiative-taking approach to troubleshooting
- Requirement for experience with modern mobile equipment: construction, mining, and/or agricultural equipment.
- Requirement for experience with modern mobile hydraulics and the electronic control of mobile hydraulics (electro-hydraulic controls).
- Must have uncompromising workmanship standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work in adverse conditions (such as outside in poor weather).
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills
- Must strive to maintain a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends when necessary.
Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance:
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, machinery, and systems.
- Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery and components to maintain optimal performance.
- Replace worn or damaged parts and components as needed.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, electrical issues, and plumbing problems.
- Execute necessary repairs, which may involve welding, soldering, etc.
- Analyze and resolve mechanical, electrical, or structural issues efficiently.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate a wide range of tools and equipment, such as power tools, hand tools, and testing instruments, to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery are operated safely and in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow safety procedures, protocols, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Participate in safety training programs and maintain a good understanding of safety standards.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and equipment logs.
- Report any major issues, required repairs, or potential improvements.
