Overview
Nes-Tech Sales and Service, located in Stratford, Ontario, is seeking a skilled and dedicated 310S Automotive Service Technician to join our growing service team. We are a trusted provider of automotive repair, light- and medium-duty vehicle service, trailer repairs, truck equipment, and snow removal equipment sales and service, committed to delivering quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
We primarily service domestic cars and trucks, along with light- and medium-duty vehicles, trailers, and specialized truck equipment. We are a DriveON-accredited facility for Ontario Safety Standards Certificates, including annual commercial truck and trailer safety inspections.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance, with experience servicing domestic vehicles, light- and medium-duty trucks, trailers, and truck-mounted snow removal equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and snow removal systems with precision and efficiency while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics using specialized diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive systems including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Perform wheel alignments and suspension inspections, making adjustments to ensure proper vehicle handling and tire wear.
- Complete general repairs and maintenance on domestic cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty vehicles.
- Perform trailer repairs, inspections, and maintenance as required.
- Perform seasonal tire changeovers, including installation and removal of winter tires, tire rotations, tire inspections, and related tire service.
- Install, service, and repair truck-mounted snow removal equipment, including snowplows, salt/sand spreaders, hydraulic systems, electrical controls, and lighting.
- Diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues related to snow removal equipment.
- Perform seasonal inspections, winterization, and preventative maintenance on vehicles equipped for snow and ice control operations.
- Perform safety inspections and assist with annual truck and trailer inspection requirements.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs effectively.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, workplace safety standards, and company procedures during all repair procedures.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of vehicle and equipment components as required.
- Safely perform heavy lifting tasks to move parts, equipment, and components during repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and inspection details.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service work.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician Licence.
- 3rd or 4th year 310S apprentices will also be considered.
- Registered with DriveON (or eligible to register).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience servicing truck-mounted snow removal equipment, including plows, spreaders, hydraulic systems, and electrical controls, is considered a strong asset.
- 310T Truck and Coach Technician Licence is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with domestic cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Trailer repair and service experience is considered an asset.
- Experience performing wheel alignments and tire service is an asset.
- Proficiency using automotive diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and electrical diagnostics.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class G driver's licence required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour
