Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Temperer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the heat-treating process of glass to ensure durability and safety, utilizing advanced machinery and technical skills. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision, quality, and safety are paramount. The role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and quality control standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor glass tempering furnaces and related equipment with precision to meet specified quality standards.
- Set up and calibrate machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and other manufacturing tools using CAD drawings and blueprints.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Fanuc systems to control automated processes efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on equipment including CNC programming for custom specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, and other measurement devices to ensure glass products meet safety and quality standards.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings accurately for proper fabrication and assembly of glass components.
- Manage warehouse inventory, packaging finished products securely, and prepare items for shipment or storage.
- Operate forklifts safely when handling heavy materials or finished products within the warehouse or production area.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular safety checks.

- Operate finishing machines to grind, drill, sand, bevel, decorate, wash or polish glass or glass products
- Visually inspect products for quality
- Set up or adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing and forming machines Weigh, measure and check production samples to assess conformance to specifications
- Examine and mark defective glass to obtain the best cut Heat, anneal, temper or form float glass or glass products
- Place sheet of glass on padded table or in jig and measure and mark glass

Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with knowledge of CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Mechanical knowledge related to press brake machines, welding techniques, machining processes, and assembly procedures.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, quality control standards, and the use of hand tools like calipers for precise measurements.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Fanuc systems, and automation technology.
- Warehouse experience including packaging procedures is advantageous.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality assurance, and efficiency. This role is integral to maintaining high standards in glass manufacturing through advanced technical skills combined with a commitment to safety and quality excellence.
Pay: $28.00-$37.00 per hour
