Access Consulting has been retained by a well-established, multi-site organization in the early childhood education sector with a long-standing reputation for delivering exceptional care and learning experiences. They are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across a network of licensed childcare centres.
The Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, the Senior Director of Operations will oversee operational performance, regulatory compliance, financial results, enrolment growth, and leadership development across multiple location.
This position leads Program Directors, the Curriculum Director, and Business Analyst while partnering closely with Centre Leaders to drive operational excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations across multiple childcare centres.
- Develop and coach high-performing leadership.
- Standardize operational processes and implement best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement through performance metrics and operational reporting.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with provincial licensing, health and safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee audits, inspections, serious occurrence reporting, and corrective actions.
- Lead incident management and emergency response protocol.
- Maintain ongoing licensing readiness across all locations.
Enrolment & Business Performance
- Lead enrolment strategy to achieve occupancy and revenue.
- targetMonitor sales pipelines, conversion metrics, and forecasting.
- Partner with Marketing to strengthen lead generation and family engagement.
- Oversee operational budgets, labour planning, and financial performance.
- Analyze KPIs and implement strategies to improve operational and financial outcomes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with HR, Finance, Marketing, and Education teams to deliver consistent service and operational excellence.
- Lead implementation of new systems, processes, and technology initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood
- EducationRegistered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing
- 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in licensed childcare or early learning
- Minimum 5 years leading multi-site operations
- Strong knowledge of CCEYA, Ministry licensing requirements, Public Health regulations, and quality assurance standards
- Demonstrated success managing operations, budgets, business planning, and large teams
- Valid First Aid & CPR-C certification
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
