Position Summary
The Residence Hall Coordinator plays a key leadership role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive environment at camp. You’ll provide advice and support to a team of camp counsellors on all things wellness and behaviour management, providing supervision where needed and help create engaging camp experiences. This overnight position includes weekend work, with meals and accommodations provided. We are specifically looking for a male identifying coordinator for camp due to our dorm set up. This role is NOT an on ice role.
Responsibilities
- Support & Advice Camp Counsellors on Wellness & Behaviour Management.
- Provide break coverage for staff.
- Supervise participants aged 10–28 as needed.
- Collaborate with the other coordinators and directors to manage camper behaviour.
- Facilitate camp programs and activities as needed.
- Provide minor first aid support.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Supervision
- Reports to: Director, Residence (or Director, Client Experience in their absence).
- Provides supervision to: Camp Counsellors and players/campers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with youth/young adults in formal or informal educational settings.
- 1+ years of experience supervising staff.
- 1+ years working in behaviour management an asset.
- 1+ years working in an on-call setting an asset.
- 1+ years in crisis management an asset.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve in dynamic situations.
- Required Certifications:
- First Aid + CPR C
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- National Lifeguarding Certification at asset.
