The role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support our pre-construction team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a range of commercial and residential projects.
This position offers strong mentorship and clear career progression within Westmark’s growing pre-construction team. The Junior Estimator will work closely with experienced estimators and project leaders, gaining exposure to a variety of commercial and multi-family projects while developing core estimating skills. We are looking for someone eager to learn, contribute, and grow into a long-term role within the organization.
Responsibilities include:
· Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand scope
· Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in developing cost estimates
· Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
· Assist in the preparation of bids and proposal submissions
· Support budget development and cost tracking throughout pre-construction
· Identify potential cost risks and opportunities
· Participate in value engineering and constructability discussions
· Maintain organized estimate files and project documentation
· Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and trade partners
· Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction estimating and cost management.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in estimating, preferably in a construction management or general contracting environment.
· Experience in residential multifamily, single family, and commercial construction.
· Familiarity with municipal application processes is an asset.
· Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Bluebeam Takeoff software
· Certification (e.g., Certified Construction Estimator, Gold Seal, PMP) is an asset.
· Technologist or a bachelor’s degree in construction management is an asset.

Compensation:
· Salary $65,000 - $85,000 Commensurate with industry experience.
