Overview
We are seeking a passionate and engaging Cooking Instructor to lead fun and educational cooking classes for children. The ideal candidate will have a love for teaching, experience working with young learners, and a background in cooking. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire children to develop healthy eating habits, culinary skills, and confidence in the kitchen. The Cooking Instructor will create a positive learning environment, fostering creativity and teamwork through hands-on culinary activities.
Wednesdays 5:15pm-7:15pm
8 weeks: October 7-November 25
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate cooking lessons that align with educational goals
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and safety procedures to children during classes
- Engage students through interactive instruction, encouraging participation and curiosity
- Prepare ingredients and assist students with hands-on cooking tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, ensuring safety standards are met
- Adapt lessons to accommodate different skill levels and learning styles
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes teamwork and confidence
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, especially with children or in classroom settings
- Background in cooking, with the ability to demonstrate culinary techniques clearly
- Experience working with children
- Excellent communication skills to engage young learners and facilitate interactive lessons
- Ability to create fun, safe, and educational experiences that inspire a love of cooking
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching kids in a dynamic environment
Pay: $25.00 per hour
