Our company is looking for great people like you to help fill a Class 1 Truck Driver position for our workshop in Halifax. You will be responsible for transporting prefabricated exterior wall panels and construction materials from our Halifax workshop to active job sites across the region. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Competitive wage: $30.00-40.00/hour
- 2 weeks of vacation time upon hire
- Drive a brand-new 2026 Ford F-450 King Ranch (fully loaded: AC, heated/ventilated massage seats, leather interior, trailer assist/guidance tools, etc.)
- Consistent bi-weekly pay schedule
- Primarily daytime, weekday driving (no long-haul/overnight travel)
- Stable, year-round work in the construction industry
SCHEDULE
- Full-Time (40 hours/week)
- Monday - Friday, possibly Saturday
- Start time: 6:00 am - 8:00 am
- End time: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
DUTIES
- Operate a company supplied vehicle (description above) to transport exterior wall panels and construction materials to job sites
- Haul and position gooseneck trailers (approx. 35–40 ft) safely and efficiently
- Load, secure, and inspect cargo in compliance with safety and transportation regulations
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs
- Coordinate deliveries with on-site supervisors and communicate arrival timing and site requirements
- Maintain communication with dispatch/shop regarding scheduling, delays, and delivery updates
- Plan and adjust routes based on traffic, weather, and site conditions as required
- Maintain accurate logs and comply with Hours of Service and applicable transportation regulations
- Perform basic truck upkeep, including cleaning (wash/vacuum weekly) and minor maintenance tasks as needed
- Assist with loading/unloading and support general construction duties when required
- Follow all company safety policies and represent the company professionally on job sites
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving abstract
- 7+ years of Class 1 driving experience, preferably with flatbed trailers, oversized, or construction-related loads
- Experience securing and transporting complex or irregular loads considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement standards and road safety regulations
- Comfortable operating and maneuvering loads in active construction site environments
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as load securement, tarping, and assisting with loading/unloading when required
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must provide and use required PPE (steel-toe boots, high-visibility vest, hard hat, gloves, etc.)
