Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, dental procedures, and office management, ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Prior experience with dental software such as Dentrix, knowledge of orthodontics, and bilingual abilities are highly valued. Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software
- Manage patient appointments, follow-ups, and billing processes
- Support orthodontic procedures and assist with pediatric patient care when necessary
- Ensure the sterilization of dental instruments and maintain infection control protocols
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns in a professional manner
- Collaborate with the dental team to create a welcoming and efficient office environment
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental management software preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Prior experience in a dental office setting is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
