The Peace River School Division is seeking a Full-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Curriculum Coordinator to join our Learning Services Team at Central Operations in the town of Grimshaw. As our Curriculum Coordinator, you will be part of a team leading the implementation of the Division's Education Plan and the ongoing provincial curriculum rollouts, ensuring “Success for All” is a reality in every classroom. You will move between analyzing divisional data and modelling best practice instruction alongside our teaching staff. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Education - Learning Services.
The position will commence on August 27, 2026, with flexibility for an earlier start date, subject to individual circumstances and mutual agreement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Implementation

Lead the implementation and alignment of Alberta Education's K-12 curriculum across the division.

Work with school administrators to “lead the learning” and foster a data-informed and curriculum-focused culture.

Collaborate with external partners such as the Northwest Regional Learning Consortium (NRLC), Alberta Assessment Consortium (AAC), and the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA) to align divisional goals with provincial standards.
Instructional Coaching and Capacity Building-
Model best-practice instruction, pedagogical design, and conceptual learning alongside teachers in the classroom.
- Support the New Teacher Mentorship program and August orientation to onboard new staff with PPSD's curriculum goals.
- Support staff in enhancing “Assessment Literacy”, aligning summative assessments with Alberta programs of study, and improving formative assessment practices.
Data and Monitoring-
Oversee the selection, review, and implementation of high-quality divisional curriculum resources and benchmark assessments to ensure responsive teaching.

Analyze divisional student data to identify learning trends, evaluate the efficacy of curriculum implementation, and bridge achievement gaps.
Qualifications-
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.

A minimum of 7-10 years of successful K-12 teaching experience across subject areas.

Regular travel to schools throughout the division is required; a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are essential.
Assets include-
A Master of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related area.

Knowledge of Alberta's K-12 Curriculum Renewal and provincial assessment frameworks, such as the Provincial Achievement Test and Diploma Exams.
- Training and/or experience in coaching.

Experience in organizing and delivering engaging, actionable Professional Development for staff.

Annual Salary Range: $62,702 to $105,996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers' Association and the Peace River School Division) and additional allowance as per Article 3.
