JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to track and trace all drivers on your board. Receive and confirm drivers BOL, Pieces, Weight, Seal for all pickups. Arrive and depart drivers using company TMS (TMW) in real time and track all drivers to ensure delivery is on time. Report transit delays to customers immediately after looking for ways to improve transit potentially reducing the original delay. Review driver’s paperwork for accuracy and submit necessary customs documentation to customs brokers for preclearance via Border Connect or FAST portal. As a dispatcher you are required to work closely with the operations planning team by reporting planning discrepancies and assist in covering loads when a driver call off occurs or breakdown. Dispatch and planning are one unit and must work as a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track and trace all drivers for your respective lane’s drivers 3 times per day. Any late pickup or delivery update supervisor and customer ASAP
- Ensure TMS NEXT EVENTS are up to date always (goes along with tracking)
- Review drivers’ schedules and insure they can meet all the requirements.
- Confirm all drivers have received and accepted their Load Offer Via Omnitracs. Drivers have updated their arrival/ departure as well as load information into their Omnitracs and it is transmitted into TMW
- Update and maintain spreadsheets for yard Trailer inventory and publish to all Hunter operations including discrepancies.
- Support drivers as required. Communicate schedules and changes to drivers.
- Support drivers and customers best way possible in consideration of Hunter Express
- Update TMW with correct, BOL, Pei, Weight, Seal #, and custom information. Scan all paperwork into TMW (Anything and everything)
- Ensure real time updates are complete in TMW
- Look for ways to improve the operation in both cost and efficiency.
- Work with the team to collectively complete all necessary tasks.
- Multitask as much as possible.
- Call repair service if a breakdown occurs and help problem solve the best way you know how.
- Other tasks as required by management.
Job Duties:
- Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations
- Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have
- Monitor road conditions, construction zones, and accidents in order to revise routes as needed
- Update customers on the status of their deliveries including any delays that occur
- Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately
- Other duties as requested
