Overview
The Recovery Wellness Worker plays a vital role in supporting Youth ages 14-18 on their journey to recovery and wellness. This position involves working closely with clients in a residential setting to provide support, advocacy, supervision and mentorship. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, experience in residential care, knowledge of indigenous culture as well as familiarity with addiction recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to youth, ensuring a safe, structured and therapeutic residential environment.
- Supervise daily routines, group activities, chores, and mealtimes.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises, recovery programming, and life skills training.
- Conduct wellness checks and ensure youth are following their treatment plans.
- Support youth in a one-on-one capacity
- Overnight staff focus on security, crisis response, and facility safety.
Requirements
- Previous experience providing support and mentorship to youth.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide clients effectively. .
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess situations critically.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, families, and team members.
- A genuine passion for helping others achieve their wellness goals through recovery-focused practices.
- Knowledgeable in Indigenous culture and traditions.
- Information and/or experience of recovery resources in the community.
- Recent (less than 6 months) satisfactory criminal record and child abuse registry check.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
