Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Part-Time Sonographer to join our growing clinical team. In this role, you will perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, support physicians with diagnostic imaging, and provide an exceptional patient experience throughout each stage of the examination process.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-focused care throughout the imaging process.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining examinations, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Monitor patients during examinations and respond appropriately to their needs throughout the procedure.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Diagnostic Imaging
- Perform preventative screening ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and professional standards.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Follow established scan protocols and liaise with the interpreting physician as required.
- Dual certification in ultrasound and echocardiography is considered an asset.
Equipment & Quality Assurance
- Operate, maintain, and monitor ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Process, archive, and manage diagnostic images within the PACS system while maintaining accurate patient records.
- Perform equipment checks and report any maintenance or operational concerns promptly.
Infection Prevention & Safety
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, and high-level disinfection of equipment in accordance with clinic policies, procedures, and applicable infection prevention standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe examination environment for both patients and staff.
- Adhere to all clinical, safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Team Collaboration & Administrative Support
- Support the day-to-day operations of the clinic by assisting with team initiatives and administrative tasks as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, protocol updates, and ongoing training.
- Assist with ordering supplies, maintaining documentation, filing, and other operational responsibilities that contribute to effective team performance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Current registration and certification with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS (or equivalent).
- Previous experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations is preferred.
- Experience with PACS and electronic medical record systems is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centred approach to care.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Dual certification in ultrasound and echocardiography is considered an asset.
Salary and Benefits
- $43 - $65 per hour based on experience
